RSVP Recognizes Audio Journal

Jay Rufo, Valerie Clapham, RSVP’s Denise Herron

Release Date:
June 1, 2007

A mong the things that Audio Journal has done well over the years are the collaborations with several community institutions. Schools, colleges, service organizations, and cultural institutions are a few examples. One such alliance that stands out as mutually beneficial has been our relationship with the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.

RSVP, established locally in 1971, is an organization that connects people over the age of 55 with volunteer opportunities that meet compelling needs in their communities. Audio Journal is an organization that depends heavily on volunteers. Our service is fueled by the efforts of over 150 volunteers. This natural alignment of services began in 1991.

On May 16, 2007, RSVP recognized Audio Journal as Station of the Year for “the exemplary service that you provide to the sight impaired community and in the appreciation of the support that you give to the RSVP program and our volunteers.”

Our thanks to this important ally, and here’s to many more years of serving the community as a team. For more on RSVP call 508-791-7787.
