Barnes & Noble Book Fair raises funds for Audio Journal at November 29 Book Fair

Holiday shoppers at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 541 D Lincoln Street in Worcester, on November 29, generously donated a portion of their purchases to benefit Audio Journal. Thanks to all who participated and to Barnes & Noble for their community minded spirit.

N.E.T.Works Theatre Productions perfomance to benefit for Audio Journal

N.E.T.Works Theatre Productions performed a very seasonal mystery farce called "Hide and Shriek," this past October, directed by Holly Dion. Stolen lovers, desperate women, mistaken identities and $60,000 gone missing were all part of the action, chills and thrills! A portion of the ticket sales benefited Audio Journal, so thanks N.E.T.Works for letting us be part of this hysterically funny send up. And thanks to all those who purchased tickets.

Local agency for the blind celebrates 20th anniversary, wins international award

Out of Sight - Information for the blind community, from the blind community has once again served a local radio reading service very well. For the ninth time in the last eight years, Audio Journal, the radio reading service for individuals living in Worcester County who are blind, was awarded by the International Association of Audio Information Services for excellence in programming at a recent conference held in Jackson, MS.

Popular Event to Include Art Accessibility for The Blind

Worcester - The Worcester Art Museum and Audio Journal will join to create an environment for blind individuals to appreciate the wonderful "Flora in Winter" exhibition at the museum. This Sunday, February 4, from 11AM until 4PM, blind visitors will be able to hear detailed descriptions of the exhibits, explanations by the floral designers themselves, and be led on special tours of the show.

Audio Journal Announces Major Grant from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation

$15,000 Allocated for Development/Outreach position, filled by blind individual.

Worcester - Audio Journal, the radio service for blind individuals living in Worcester County, announced the receipt of a $15,000 grant awarded by the Greater Worcester Community Foundation from the H. Arthur Smith Fund and Discretionary Funds. The grant will be used to supplement the salary, training, adaptive equipment and administrative costs of a Development/Outreach Coordinator for the agency.
